Label TextDean Curtiss embodied the Victorian gentleman, dressing dapperly in a celluloid collar, bowler hat, spats, and carrying a cane. He built strong relationships across the livestock industry, maintained a wide circle of friends, and demonstrated the leadership skills needed to create a creative college of agriculture. Dean Curtiss worked physically throughout his entire career. Judging team trophies in Killdee Hall and Curtiss Hall at Iowa State testify to his impact as a leader in American agriculture. Even more important, his tradition continues: distinguished professors of agriculture who explore the new frontiers of science carry the title C. F. Curtiss Distinguished Professors of Agriculture, with a capital “A.” https://www.ans.iastate.edu/about/history/people/charles-f-curtiss
