Label Text"No, I did not drop the pot" I intentionally crack the fired pieces with a wooden mallet then randomly select sections and re-fire them in different carbon producing atmospheres. The pieces are assembled using glue and the result is a harder edge between spaces. The crack line becomes more than a two-dimensional line applied to a surface, the line is an internal part of the work. Two-dimensional becoming three-dimensional at the same time. -Steve Johnson, c. 1990
