MarkingsJar: A square black seal with gold outlines & characters:"Ta ni-pon Satsu-ma" (Great Japan, Satsuma Ware). A small red circle with gold outline and central cross, the Satsuma Crest. On pieces made prior to 1868 this crest always in gosu blue etc. (Andacht, p106)
