Label TextDesigned by designer Timo Sarpaneva in 1967, the Festivo candleholder has become an international collector's favourite and is one of the most recognisable objects of Finnish design. The Festivo candleholder originated when Timo Sarpaneva designed a large wine glass to hold a whole bottle of wine attached to the base of the candle holder. The idea of making a candleholder from the foot of the glass was born, and thus, the prototype of a new classic was born. The surface imitating melting ice gives the candleholder a unique look. The candleholders have been in production since 1967 and are manufactured at the Iittala glass factory in Finland.
