Label TextThe background of this plate is painted in a blue fish-scale design and is reminiscent of Japanese kimono designs; it is known as salmon-scale and used in porcelain decoration at Worchester dating from 1763.
MarkingsMark in underglaze blue. Worcester mark used mainly on pieces with oriental decoration, an imitation seal mark (Hughes, p162).
