Label TextBead-stringing and beadmaking gave Victorian girls the opportunity to create their own jewelry and pretty bobbles. It was a simple craft that could be done without a needle and yet create a beautiful object that would attest to the creator's artistic skill. This necklace is comprised of glass beads, pearls, and paper rolls that have been rolled very tightly (sometimes around knitting needles) and bees wax has been applied to them to make them shiny and hard after polishing.
