Label TextMadonna of the Prairie, Christian Petersen's memorial to pioneer women, was purchased by the College of Education in 1982 and placed in the Lagomarcino courtyard, which had formerly housed the veterinary medicine complex. The pioneer mother holds her small child and both gaze toward the tallgrass prairie, a land which is destined for their homestead.
