Label TextThis work of art was created by Eric Sealine, artist-in-residence at the Memorial Union in 1975-76. It originally was displayed in the main waiting room area of the Memorial Union across from the Central Information Desk. It was transferred to the University Museums in 1995 and installed in the new Student Health Center in 1997. The piece was fired in the Ceramic Engineering Dept. at ISU and David Martin, Professor, assisted. Sealine said it took 200 hours to construct the furnace and another 800 hours working on the stained glass project to complete the piece. He used electrical engineering concepts in his furnace design and he mastered annealing. Sections of the rejected glass from this project were on display in the Memorial Gallery in July, 1976 along with Milford Cushman's work.
