Label TextGeorge Christensen's "Plaza of Heroines" is an interpretation of "Alcove" by Harriet Bart at Catt Hall and in the Art on Campus Collection. Christensen's images reflect his concentration on light and shapes. He interprets rather than captures scenes that interest him. Commissioned for the exhibition "Campus Aesthetics in Black and White," "Plaza of Heroines" is one of 125 photographs in Christensen's comprehensive survey of the campus from fall 1998 to fall 1999. Through the classic medium of black and white photographs, George Christensen provides the viewer with a unique interpretation of the Iowa State campus to which he devoted much of his professional life.
