Label TextAirplanes and people are depicted in front of a New York City skyline. Taskey's use of contrast in the buildings, such as the Chrysler Building, increases the drama in this lithograph. The cropping of the buildings antenna helps compositionally--if the entire building were to be included in the image, the center of interest would make the lithograph bottom heavy. Also see Louis Lozowick's Storm Over Manhattan, 1936 in this exhibition.
