Label TextSarah Alice Toohey "Sallie" was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1872. She created a wide range of works during her tenure at Rookwood Pottery from 1887 until 1931, although in the latter years she took over management of the glaze department and did little decorating. She died on November 5, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio and is buried in the Irish St. Joseph Cemetery.
