Not on viewLabel TextIt's a long walk between Ames and Gilbert, as Petersen knew well. He often walked from Gilbert, his hometown later in life, to Ames where he worked in Botany Hall (now Catt Hall) on campus. Primarily known as a sculptor, his two-dimensional works of art are simple in composition and form, similar to his preparatory studies and sketches. This is one of only three known oil paintings in existance by Petersen.
