Label TextThis scupture is of Charlotte Petersen, wife of the sculptor. The Petersen family was wealthy in love - all that really mattered to Charlotte. However, she really did want a fur coat. Through frugal savings, Christian gave her a coat with a fur collar. It was probably purchased during a summer sale. Charlotte celebrated by wearing her fur at a family picnic - in July! Christian commemorated the affair by sculpting the small studio sculpture of Charlotte Sitting on a Rock.
