R.D. Blackmore

Novelist and poet, Blackmore practiced for a short time as a lawyer but soon found his passion for poems and later fiction. He produced 15 novels, all being above average or of outstanding merit. One of the most striking features of Blackmore's writing is the sympathy and marvelous eye for nature.

Blackmore died in 1900.
