Robert G. Shuler
Had early interest in art. Graduated from Pekin High School, Pekin, Illinois. Entered military service in WWII in the 8th Air Force after 3 1/2 years of service, entered University of Iowa for degrees. 1951 received Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa with completion of sixty hours of graduate work in printmaking, painting and art history. Awarded Bachelor of Arts degree in 1949 from the University of Iowa. Completed private studies in painting under Henry Hensche at the Provincetown School of Art, Provincetown, Mass., and attended various watercolor seminars.
Taught at University of ILL., Chicago campus befor entering a business career in Des Moines, IA. On the side, he taught at the Des Moines Art Center and maintained an art studio. Retired from business and does some teaching, but spends most of his time producing art, supplying galleries, and exhibiting his work.
