Andrea Myklebust
Andrea Myklebust is a sculptor and alumna of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. An architect’s daughter, her work has included volunteer service in community development initiatives to encourage the creation of a lively public realm in towns and cities.
Andrea and Stanton are a husband-and-wife team that has worked collaboratively since 1993 and have created more than seventy large-scale public art projects for sites across the United States. Together with Andrea’s father, John, they share an interest in the integration of art and architecture, and in the constructive role public art can play in civic spaces. Their studio is based in Danby, Vermont. She now works as a bast fiber researcher at the Smokey House Center, a not-for-profit forest and agriculture living lab in Danby, Vermont, raising a mixed flock wool sheep. She also teachers fiber and textile based subjects & flax and linen processes.
