Mohammed Harahap
Born in Jakarta 1951, Mohammed has shown his talent in painting since age 8 and won prizes on several children painting competitions.
During his high school time in 1966-1969, he took a painting course under Medan's senior painter Sekar Gunung. During 1970-1979 he studied art under Popo Iskandar and Ahmad Sadali. Since 1987, until now, he has participated in many painting exhibitions in Banyuwangi, Bali, Jakarta, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Kuwait.
A senior artist of Indonesia, he have received numerous awards include British International Jakarta and London, Tanglin trust Singapore, Indonesian Consortium ASEAN Program Consultant, Indonesian Ambassador in Kuwait, and Malaysia Palace Kuala Lumpur to complement his contribution to the art world. Due to the popularity of Mohammed's work, there are many artists who try to imitate his unique style. However, one can still identify the unmatched skill and finest in the art work of this master.
His artworks are among the collections of Fukuoka Art Museum in Japan, and British International Museum in London and Jakarta, and many other art collectors for Indonesian art internationally.
