JiříAnderle

Born in 1936 in Pavlikov, Czechoslavakia, Jiří Anderle gained an international reputation as a painter and printmaker after his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague from 1955-61. From 1969 to 1973, he worked as an assistant at the UIA Zdeněk Sklenář and Jiří Trnka. Since 1966 he has regularly exhibited his works at a variety of museums across the United States and Eastern and Western Europe.

In dozens of his works, Anderle expresses the human existential anxiety and general timelessness. Recently, his work has moved closer to abstraction.
