Virginia Thorne(American, b. 1913)

Attended the Kansas City Art Institute. Then moved to Washington, D.C. where she went to the Corcoran Gallery School of Art. Marrried in 1936 and moved to Chicago, IL. Took watercolor at the Chicago Institute of Art. In later years, studied watercolor with Tom Hill, Robert E. Wood, Dick Phillips, Fran Larson, Sollan Gsabo, Milford Jones. Belonged to the Southern Illinois Watercolor Guild. (Letter dated Oct. 6 1989 to Lynette Pohlman)
