Nancy Lindsey
Nancy Lindsay was born in 1948 in Lincoln Nebraska. Art has always been her primary interest, even as a young child. She studied art at Colorado State University and worked for many years in the commercial printing industry as a designer.
While raising three children, she began painting seriously in the the 1980's. Encouraged by other artists, she began entering and winning competitions. Later on, she attended Art Students League of New York and was a student of William Scharf.
Moving to Iowa in 1998, she discovered the beauty of the Iowa landscape. "My husband introduced me to all the scenic areas. Matsells, Palisades, Pleasant Creek, Pinicon, Backbone Parks are some of my favorite places to paint."
In 2003, she was one of ten international artists invited to participate in an artist residency in the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria. As a result of this extended trip, she has 35 paintings chronicling her travels. Each painting was painted on location from Paris to Istanbul.
Lindsay currently resides in Anamosa, Iowa, with her husband Lee.
