Keith Rathert

Keith Alan Rathert was born on October 22, 1955 in Des Moines. He died on November 4, 2006.Keith graduated from Hoover High School where he developed a love for the game of basketball which continued at Arkansas State University where he received a degree in philosophy. He also received a degree in ceramics from Drake University. He began a life long career in ceramics in Des Moines, continuing for the past 15 years at his studio in Adel. His pottery is well-known throughout Iowa and around the Midwest.

Keith enjoyed the arts, music and the outdoors. He touched many with his friendly smile and calm, gentle manner. He loved animals - especially his cat. Keith was a wonderful son, father, brother, uncle and friend. We take comfort in knowing he will be remembered in the hearts and minds of his devoted family and his host of friends.
