Doug Kyes
Doug Kyes is a native of the Northwest, born and raised in Everett. He graduated with honors from Art Center College of Design, and spent 35 years working as an artist for the Boeing Co. His drawings, paintings and murals have been shown in England, France and throughout the United States. He did a story portrait of King Faisal of Saudi Arabia that was presented to the King.
For the World's Fair at Knoxville, the Boeing Co. commissioned him to do a full spectrum 7 foot by 13 foot mural titled "Energy Catalyses: Sun Moon, and Science".
During the 1980's and 90's Doug has won awards in the major northwest art competitions including the Puget Sound Country Exhibitions, Northwest Watercolor Society Annual, and the Frye Art Museum's Puget Sound Area Exhibition. His work was featured in the American Artist Magazine and his paintings reproduced for the West Coast Paper Company and Craftsman Press calendar.
