King Au
Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, Master of Architecture from Iowa State University. Professional photographer, free lance architecture, interior,commercial and fine arts.Taught at ISU in 1992/93 also freehand drawing 1982-1985. Art in the Park Entry Jury, Des Moines Art Center 1991/92. Architectural Design Jury, ISU 1988 to date. Professional licensed architect 1989 to date. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, central Iowa Architects , the Des Moines Art Center, and University Museum at ISU. Publications include, Iowa Architecture Magazine, Woman's Day Kitchen and Bath's and Better Homes and Garden Magazine.
“Interpretations of the Interpretations” artists King Au resides in Des Moines, where he operates Studio AU, a multi-disciplinary design firm. Au received a degree in Architecture in 1982 and a Master’s Degree in Architecture in 1985, both from Iowa State University. While a student he taught classes in Architecture as well as Photography. He has been doing professional photography since 1985. From 1985 to 1988 he was employed by Herbert Lewis Kruse Blunck Architecture in Des Moines. In 1989 he became a licensed architect and opened Studio AU.
King’s work can be seen in many publications, including “Iowa Architect” magazine, “Women’s Day Kitchens and Baths (1993),” and “Better Homes and Gardens” magazine. He has had one previous fine art exhibition of his work, “Vision Quest,” In Des Moines in 1987.
