Auguste J.F. Legras

"Auguste J.F. Legras established a factory in 1864 at Saint-Denis, just outside of Paris and specialized in glass decorated with woodland scenes and marine motifs, enamelling relief decoration in pasted colors." Legras received the Grand Prix at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. According to Bernice and Henry Blount in French Cameo Glass (Wallace Homestead, Des Moines, IA, 1968) much of the Legras work was good, but also some left "much to be desired." p. 23
