Cloy P. Kent 1917 ~ 2004 The world lost a noble woman of faith, talent and heart on December 31, 2004, when Cloy Paulson Kent of Bountiful, Utah passed away at her home. She leaves behind a legacy of great achievement and loving connections to family and friends. In 1985 after Jim's (her husbands) retirement from the University of Iowa they moved to Bountiful, Utah. Cloy was blessed with tremendous artistic talent, which was apparent early in her life. She studied with top photographers in Salt Lake City and New York City. During her years in Iowa City and Bountiful, she painted hundreds of portraits, most notably leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including Thomas S. Monson, Joseph B. Wirthlin, Jeffrey R. Holland and Barbara Smith. Her most famous portrait was of Sister Mary Catherine McAuley founder of Mercy Hospitals worldwide. Her career leaves behind a rich legacy for many families, universities and organizations throughout the world. Cloy continued to paint up until the last week of her life.
