Charles SavoieAmerican, b. 1959

Charles Savoie is a master glassblower who lives and works in Ripon, Wisconsin. Charles makes all his own glass from scratch, combining sand and metallic oxides; sometimes using 17th century Venetian and Bohemian formulas which he modifies. Because of this unusual commitment to the science of glass, he has formulated a material with special working qualities and a unique color palette that has been essential in creating his signature style.

“Feathers are my cane work glass sculptures that are both minimal and modern. They speak to the energy of flight. They function well as modular pieces, but pairings and groupings can crate a very elegant and dynamic statement.”
