Laurel Stern Boeck

Laurel Stern was born and grew up on Long Island, New York. From an ealry age she showed an interest in art, and especially in portraiture. This talent was encouraged and fosterd by her grandmother, who was also an artist.

Ms. Stern earned her BFA from The School of Visaul Arts. She studied extensively with John Murray, and also at the Art Students' League and in Europe. She currently has a teaching post at the School of Visual Arts.

Her portraits can be found in many private homes and the collections of the Marine Corps, Columbia University and Ramapo College. Commissions of note include Mr. and Mrs. Grizzard and Alec Courtelis for the Courtelis Company.
