Adams & Company(American (Pittsburgh, PA), b. 1861 - 1891)

John Adams, the founder of the Adams & Company Glass Factory, was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1823. He was an apprentice in the Bakewell, Pears & Company in 1846 and in 1851 he opened his own factory on the corner of Ross and Second streets in Pittsburgh under the name Adams, Maklin & Company. In 1861 the name changed to Adams & Company and at this time moved to Birmingham on the south side of Pittsburg. In 1891, Adams & Co. join the US Glass Company merger and was there after known as Factory A.
