He came from Bergen to the United States in 1918. He emmigrated to the USA (specifcially Chicago) in 1909. And moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1945, and became widely known as a fine portrait artist over the course of his life.
Studied at Art Industrial School, Bergen, Norway & Art Institute of Chicago, during evenings and summers
