Label TextThe single figure in the center of the painting wanders alone through the extended landscape in the cold, dark winter. Is the figure purposefully alone, or lost in the landscape? The painting is alluding to physical removal of a person from society, but perhaps she is simply lost in thought. The bright red cherries in the upper left corner allude to the hope of springtime, a fruitful time.
