The image is the iconic building at MIT's Maclaurin Building, and currently (2011) marketed at MIT as "Under the Dome" as an important campus location.
This rendering was done in 1912 by Allan H. Kimball for his master's thesis at Massachusetts Institute of Techonology. Professor Kimball came to Iowa State in 1914. He founded the Department of Architectural Engineering and served as Head of the Department until his death in March 1946.
