Status
Not on viewLabel TextDarling must have been eager to make a successful print of this image, for he had failed to make it work as a photo etching. This print was made by tracing a proof from the plate of a previous work or the original drawing, onto a transparent acetate plate. The resulting impression is therefore in reverse. Acetate drypoints have as an advantage the ease of transferring an image to the plate, but the burr of an acetate drypoint wears down quickly, and the plate does not produce any strong impressions. This impression is a strong, black one, printed on white, laid paper. Other impressions are known on Japanese papers.
