Label TextA storm ensues, engulfing people on a rural stretch of road. A lone vintage car can be seen driving off in the distance while a man on a horse rides toward two children bracing themselves against the wind. The sky, symbolic of the economic times, appears in turmoil and the winds violent. Weather was a rural obsession, a daily gamble with sustaining life and crops.
Born in Dallas, Texas in 1908, Goff studied at the Art Students League in New York. He exhibited paintings regularly at the Whitney Annual Exhibition in the late 30s and 40s. Goff taught at the University of New Mexico from 1944 to 1947.
