John W. Aughenbaugh was a master miller and partner in Everett, Aughenbaugh & Co. Flour Mill in Waseca with Willam Everett (1828-1892).

John W. Aughenbaugh was a native of Ohio born in 1846, he came to Minnesota in 1856, with his parents settling in Freeborn County to farm. John served in the U. S. Navy during the Civil War, returned to Minnesota in 1865, and entered the milling business, first in Faribault and, then several other mill towns learning the trade over a period of several years.

William Everett operated the first mercantile house, Lord, Addison & Co.

The partnership of Everett, Aughenbaugh and Co. was formed in 1877.
