Edna Patzig Gouwens

Gouwens was associate professor and later head of the Department of Graphic and Plastic Arts, University Elementary and High Schools, at the University of Iowa from 1915 to 1945. After moving to Ames in 1945 sh taught in the Department of Applied Art at Iowa State College until 1951. She was one of the founders of the Ames Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and became its first female president in 1956.

She was married to Cornelius Gouwens.
