Born Nov. 17, 1861. Harvard University, 1880-83. Hartford Theological Seminary, 1886-87. Union Theological Seminary, New York, 1887-88. Received degree of Doctor of Divinity, 1893 from Whitman College. Union Cong'l Church, Providence, Rhode Island, 1894. First summer photographic work, 1897. First literary work for magazines, 1899. First Birch pictures, 1900. First Apple Blossom pictures, 1905. First book printed on Windsor Chairs, 1917. Sold all business interests and retired in 1922. He was in the antique business for many years. Traveled abroad. Received a degree of Doctor of Humanities, Washington and Jefferson College in 1935.
