Kristi Higby received her bachelor degree in studio art from the University of South Carolina and has taught book arts, drawing and digital arts since 1977. Higby and her husband Mark Flowers, launched their teaching and artistic careers in Bluffton, SC. They taught art at Sea Pines Academy (now Hilton Head Prep) and made art out of several studios on Calhoun St. in Bluffton. Kristy created sculpture with felt. During the 1990s, Kristy turned her creative interest to artists’ books and then to digital documentary filmmaking. She and her husband taught art at Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, PA from 1991-2014. The two now live and work in Asheville, NC.
