Carl Wendell Rawson
Born in Van Meter, Iowa in 1889, Rawson was a student of Charles A. Cumming. His works include the National Academy of Design and the Minneapolis School of Art. Rawson executed numerous portraits including three for the Iowa Historical Building. His most popular works are his rich landscapes. His works are held in numerous public and private collections including the Minneapolis Institute of Art. Mr. Rawson has also painted portraits for Iowa State University. Marries Luella Willis Pattee on October 9, 1906. They had two children, Wendell Pattee Rawson and Suzanne Pattee Rawson. Luella died in 1958 and Carl remarried a woman named Marjorie.
