Label TextThe cartoonist Frank King started Gasoline Alley in 1919 as a small comic strip in a corner of a special full page dealing with fads and news highlights. Eventually Gasoline Alley became a daily strip that mirrored small town American life with its themes of Skeezix’s boyhood adventures, the marriage of Uncle Walt and Auntie Blossom, and the courtship and marriage of Skeezix. After the death of Frank King in 1969, the cartoon strip was continued by his assistants, Bill Perry and Dick Mores.
