Label TextIn 1923 Frank Willard began “Moon Mullins.” The characters in Willard’s comic strip included the roughneck Moon Moonshine, a poolroom guy, and his younger brother Kayo, who was wise beyond his years. Moon and Kayo lived in a boarding house run by Emmy Schmaltz who pursued the wealthy Lord Pushbottom. When Frank Willard died in 1958 his assistant Fred Johnson took over.
