Label TextCatherine MacKay was born Catherine McKay and had five brothers and two sisters. She was born in Tiverton, Province of Ontario, Canada on February 24, 1871. Her family was Scottish. She died in her brother's home in Winnipeg on August 22, 1921 while on leave from Iowa State College. McKay was President of the American Home Economics Association from 1916-1918.
