Not on viewLabel TextThe wrapper for the plate bears the title "Mr. and Mrs. Mallard", and indeeded, the image belongs to that group of works of art, along with the "Duck Stamp Design". A wonderful mesh of bare trees serves as background to a flock of ducks landing. Darling's favorite repussoir, a screen of tall grasses, helps to creat a pictorial spaces. The plate is selectively wiped in the middle distance, leaving tonal areas that alternate with clean wiped bands. The copper plate is extant.
