Not on viewLabel TextThis print is approximately 50 percent the size of the drawing, and has lost much of the delicacy of the pen-and-ink version. Through photography the "weight" of the individual lines tends to become equalized, reduced to the same width and depth, while the pen-and-ink drawing is responsive to the pressure of the artist's hand. In the second state, Darling added a light aquatint tone to the lower half of the plate to suggest water. The nickel-chromed plate is extant.
