Not on viewLabel TextThese landing ducks are familiar from other Darling etchings. "Mr. and Mrs. Mallard" and the "Duck Stamp Design" etchings provide the types for the mallards in this image. This particular impression is printed in brown ink, which has been selectively wiped in the water areas, which are very tonal. Another impression is printed in red-brown ink on Umbria paper, a cream-colored, hand-made paper. The later 1940s seems to be the time that Darling, Meaney, and Colflesh did the greatest amount of experimenting with inking and printing on fine papers. The copper plate is extant.
