Not on viewLabel TextOther impressions of this etching bear the date 1941. This particular impression must have been made in 1958, and is dedicated to Robert Colflesh, the Des Moines attorney who frequently assisted at Peony Farm as a printer along with Gordon Meaney. A majory of the Darling impressions in ISU's collection came from a group originally assembled by Colflesh, and formerly on display at the Des Moines Club. "Morning Flight" which also bears the contradictory title "Sunset Silhouette" employs the same drawing of bluebills, but at a different scale of enlargement than "Blue Bills Coasting to a Landing". Instead of bare bush and marsh grasses, the flock heads in over a Minnesota lake edged with evergreen trees. The two prints are a fascinating example of creative recycling. The zinc plate is extant.
