Not on viewLabel TextThis print was made from an acetate plate that had been placed over an earlier version of the image, tentatively dated to the mid-1930s, although the work is actually signed and dated with the year ’21. On that earlier work Darling noted that he had lost the copper plate. The new print is a reverse copy of the earlier one because the plate was traced from the print. There are slight difference in the way that the geese and the landscape are redrawn. The birds are slightly more mechanical, and the landscape more freely drawn, in the later print. The acetate plate was adhered to a zinc plate for subsequent printing.
