Not on viewLabel TextThis etching is closely related to the previous works but is less successful, perhaps because it is more finished. It is more a visual catalogue of the positions of a bluebill landing than an impression of a captured moment of flight. The drawing of the zig-zagging tree in the center of this composition is similar to the tree at the bottom of BUD MAYTAG'S PETS, (cat. #18), dated 1930. The flowing strokes representing the surface of the water are a new attempt to solve that pictorial problem. No contemporary impression of the print is known. The zinc plate (plate inventory #37) was printed in one restrike impression in 1983 for documentation. (per Amy Worthen)
