Label TextDarling's drawing, and subsequent prints, captures the drama of three mallards in takeoff. The drawing shows a sequence of motions, and thus it implies a slight narrative, more than just an instant in time. The image wouldn't work with ust one duck, for then it would be a frozen moment in time. The beautifully observed trees serve as a foil against which the mallards rise.
